Hope your first week and weekend has been bomb for you all and void of trouble! ADG entered with an awesome brotherhood retreat in addition to our usual shenanigans. With one week down, two weeks remain till rush; a certain event you should not miss is Car Smash, where you literally get to smash a car during convo hour! As we ramp up to rush week, here are some words from one of our alumni on the brotherhood composing ADG.
______________________________________________________
Whenever someone asks me whether I was in a college fraternity, I always get a big kick out of their reaction when I reply that "I still am!" I suppose the Greek experience is more transient for some, but one of the reasons I was so proud to become an ADG was that it truly is a lifetime relationship and, at least in my case, a life-changing experience. Very few causes to which I've devoted my time and energy have created such a strong sense of being needed by others, or provided so many different opportunities for helping make a positive difference in the world around us. It taught me to be both a better leader and a better team player, and to always maintain a basic level of respect for others.
Not to mention the fact that it's all been so much fun! Being a brother in ADG means establishing close personal bonds with some truly outstanding men – people you still want to be around, work with or just hang out long after college is over (in my case, 34 years and counting). And I think probably ADG's best-kept secret is our diversity, which is reflected in our huge alumni base; while we have our share of successful attorneys, doctors, business leaders and engineers, we also have teachers, writers, actors, musicians and artists – it really runs the gamut. And all those unique individuals contribute their own strand to the unique fabric that ADG represents.
